When I first heard about the Front Porch Project I was so intrigued! I loved the idea of being able to donate my time and talent as a photographer to raise money for charity, while also spreading some joy to families in our community. After a push from a couple of friends, I decided to start my own Front Porch Project, here in Atlanta.
I offered these complimentary sessions, and accepted donations for my favorite nonprofit, Helping Mamas. They are a local supply bank that distributes essential items such as diapers, wipes, car seats, etc to mothers in need in our community. This is an extremely tough time for many of us, especially wage workers with children. No mom should have to worry about how she is going to feed or diaper her children.
I was blown away by the response to My Front Porch Project, after photographing over 75 families in Atlanta, I’m SO EXCITED to announce we’ve raised over $10,000 for this incredible organization!!!
Seeing our community come together during these unprecedented times is something I’ll never forget.
I hope that one day these sweet families look back at their photos, and they bring back happy memories of this time at home with each other.
