I met Katie and David a few years ago when we were neighbors in Ashford Park. When I started my photography business last fall and began building my portfolio, I asked if I could photograph a fresh 48 session for them after their second son was born. They graciously agreed and allowed me to come capture their first moments as a family of four in the hospital.
Since then, the Dees family has relocated to Nashville, but when Katie realized we would both be in the 30A area at the same time, she asked me to photograph her family at Alys Beach. I was so excited to see how much Walker had grown since I last saw him at his Fresh 48 session.
Like most 2 year olds, big brother Wyatt wasn’t a fan of the sand, so we really tried to limit our time spent on the beach to keep him happy. Alys Beach is such a beautiful community, there was no shortage of portrait locations. From the palm tree lined streets, to the stunning architecture of each home, it was a photographers dream location.
If you’ll be in the 30A area this summer and are interested in a portrait session, please reach out to me. I would love to capture your families vacation memories.
